I WOULD try this Thursday! EASY harvest candle holders!

So, rather than core all those apples and stick candles in them, for the apple centric centerpiece, how about this one?  Just use real apples instead of those obviously fake craft store pumpkins they placed under the stemware pieces!

By the way, see those pinecones!  I dig pine cones so much.  They transition so well from harvest to winter decor!  The same goes for nuts!

Would YOU try this? Thursday: Core those apples and stick candles in them!

Another happy little Pinterest find!  September is definitely the time for apples!  It’s also kind of a slow season for parties and such!  Have a get together and decorate all cute like this!  Everyone will think you’re amazing!  (Don’t forget to invite me!)

By the way… Could we do this with other fruits for other seasons???

I post this under “Would YOU try this” because, frankly, I don’t think I would!  It looks kind of hard, and like it wouldn’t really last.  The only way I would justify it would be for a fancy party, but I don’t throw any fancy parties.  Do you?  And if you do, would you decorate like this?  I know some folks that do!

Make a microwave chocolate zucchini cake!

So, sometimes you just luck out.  Like I did today.  When I made a HUGE batch of beef and barley soup in my crock pot this morning, I had no idea my brother and sister-in-law would be dropping by from out of town.  It was so nice to have something warm and tasty to offer them when they stopped in.  I lucked out even further when they were already full from some KFC they’d gotten on the road.  That meant more tasty soup for me, and I’m totally scarfing it down right now!!!  MMMMM!!!!

But for those times when you’re out of luck, why not mix up a nifty desert in the microwave!!!  Check out this Recipe for Microwave Chocolate Zucchini Cake from Craftzine.com blog.  They even give directions without the zucchini, so you can always be minutes away from a having a delicious dessert to share with your guests that drop in!  YUM!
