Friday is Date Night! Make a memory with end of summer clearance finds!

So, what does this have to do with your date night?  Sounds like a good time to stock up for a weekend camping getaway or hiking trip, or pick up all the supplies you’ll need for a romantic picnic!A fall chili picnic my hubby and I shared right before a brisk hike!

Of course, I’m always fond of babysitterless dates (meaning you put the kiddos in bed a little early), and now is the time to really deck out that lawn space within baby monitor range.

If you and your spouse compete well, think about getting a game of corn hole for the back yard (you’ll want to use glow in the dark paint on it if you plan to use it after you tuck the kids in).  A nice fire pit should also serve you well into October, maybe even beyond if you live in a warmer climate.  Some other backyard date night staples?

  • A hammock or porch swing
  • Citronella candles and other insect repellants
  • Picnic blankets
  • Outdoor storage… because who wants to look at all the kids stuff all over your lawn, when you’re trying to have some getaway time with your man?!
  • Outdoor furniture… a small table is nice for dining under the stars.
So, hit the stores with your sweety, and tell me what all you’re able to find for the price of dinner and a movie!
